NAPPI PBS Model with Restrictive Practices - Blended Delivery

NAPPI Blended Delivery is a combination of remote delivery and in-person (face-to-face) delivery. The course is part of the NAPPI curriculum approved by the Restraint Reduction Network Training Standards and includes the NAPPI PBS Model, endorsed by Open College Network (OCN) London. Blended Delivery provides the best of both styles of learning and a flexible opportunity to complete the NAPPI PBS Model with Restrictive Practices, with reduced face-to-face contact time.

Part 1. NAPPI Remote Delivery

Remote Delivery of proactive preventative content must be taught before any physical skills. Each course is broken down into 90-minute blocks that cover the identified course content and delivered over two consecutive days:

Day 1

• Amber Awareness and SMART Principles
• Red Behaviour Scale and Documentation Activity
• Care Team Responses

Day 2

• Types of Restraint & Restraint Reduction Plans
• Human Rights Act
• Green Behaviour Scale

Part 2. NAPPI In-person Delivery

Under the Restraint Reduction Network Training Standards, a rationale for usage and provision of training needs to be completed by the training provider, based on current evidence and the past two years of incident data provided by the commissioning organisation. This analysis will determine the length of the in-person course.
