Continuous Professional Development (CPD)
CPD ensures that a trainer maintains their knowledge and skills, as well as staying up-to-date, enabling them to deliver professional training with awareness of changing trends and directions.
Restraint Reduction Network Requirements
The Restraint Reduction Network (RRN) Training Standards state that the training provider must specify CPD requirements for all trainers who deliver their programmes. Although not all clients come under the RRN Training Standards we view this as best practice guidance.
March 2021 to March 2022 recertification cycle
The CPD Blocks make up part of a trainer’s annual recertification and will be automatically recorded in their NAPPI online CPD section, accessed within the Trainer Account. The theme of this year’s recertification is enhancing Quality of Life by building on the skills within the Green Behaviour Scale.
To ensure that the full programme is covered, we have set two CPD requirements to be delivered on the Zoom platform. NAPPI uk has set the mandatory CPD requirements as two sessions annually, delivered by NAPPI Remote Delivery.
March 2020 to March 2021 CPD modules are:
CPD 1. Person of Influence/Praise Scale
We are taught to encourage and influence people by praising them, but praise has limitations. This session will review the importance of giving praise appropriately as a secondary reinforcement.
CPD 2. NAPPI Approach to Co-Production
Co-Production is an equal relationship between service users and service providers. It is a values-driven approach of working together with planning and sharing decision-making. This session will cover the steps involved in building an equal and reciprocal relationship.
