Below is recent feedback received from our course participants. Participants were asked what things will they do differently in thier job as a result of the training:
It has made me more aware of the primary agitation signs to look for. A well organised training. Break away technique was interesting and useful.
The training was invaluable with our care, but I feel not enough staff are trained to use these skills and we do not have enough staff to use the skills. Management should attend this course.
Great training session, however i feel management would also benefit from the course in regards to the behaviours that may be presented, and residents that present difficult behaviours whilst head management will be in the home. Again for higher management and owners to understand the impact they have on ones behaviour (residents and family). I perosnally loved the psychological aspects but would not feel comfortable to use RPI, after working here 11 years, I don't feel I would have to or have ever had to use it. Management to understand for this to be . MORE STAFF ALLOCATED TO THE UNITS.
Emily was great
Support staff with difficult behaviour of residents, able to defend myself from any residents attacking myself or colleagues.
Every part of the course has been gret a pleasure to learn.
Real eye opener, I believe will not be using most restraints shown.
A very good course.
Reflection on person centred approaches for the individuals I work with
Knowing when to take a step back
Using PBS within supervision to help with reflection in understanding and developing strategies when working with indivuduals
