Below is recent feedback received from our course participants. Participants were asked what things will they do differently in thier job as a result of the training:
I wanted to learn deescalation techniques and I have. I feel very confident in going forward and I will also take the time to understand what triggers the children have and how to support them.
I feel fully equipped to deal with situations and in fact prevent escalation of situations. I'll be interested in doing the next level and I'll be able to recognise any signs have an increased awareness of difficulties that students face and implement strategies for managing behaviour more effectively.
Great fun, very informative and relevant lots of strategies likes that I feel I can apply at my work.
Greater awareness of how to identify triggers and why children may behave in the way that they do also how to manage a better support these incidents.
I hope by putting into practice the skills I have learnt today I will be more able to deescalate situation is before they become violent. And now I am confident that an aggressive situation I'll be better able to keep my residents co-workers and myself safe from harm.
What I have learnt is going to help me in my job role by showing me how our behaviour and actions influence our service users. I will be more appreciative of their good behaviour.
I can confidently and safely restrain an individual without causing harm or abuse.
I am going to use this positive model of influence on my service user after the session. I will give verbal praise by saying the name of the service user, I really enjoyed working with you.
Based on the practicals I have gained high skill knowledge. Knowledge is power.
