I will try and deal with the clients very differently and with better understanding after doing this course.
I will definitely be more confident with the skills I have learnt and with my job. More confident in understanding the service users more and I feel more confident in how to approach/ manage a situation. Very nice experience for me to attend this training course.
I recognise the need for this training on my unit. I started by sending everyone for challenging behaviour training and have noticed a huge difference in my staff's approach to service users. NAPPI training will be a fantastic addition to what I have already started, I even think that it will be a turning point in educating my staff because it offers clear guidance and promotes fantastic values.
I will be looking at how I present my other training sessions and adopt a more structured approach. I will spend more time on the floors to observe colleagues and support especially those who attend my NAPPI training to ensure skills have been remembered.
I will be able to feel more confident definitely. I will be able to teach staff to use a more appropriate approach in their delivery of care when supporting service users. I will be more aware of visual cues when delivering training and i will understand the importance of using these more frequently.
I will definitely be applying the psychological SMART principles. I am going to perceive and translate through 2nd level messages and therefore I am able to take appropriate measures to settle down the individual. I will change my units perception on behaviour and how to manage it.
