Below is recent feedback received from our course participants. Participants were asked what things will they do differently in thier job as a result of the training:
I already use a lot of techniques after 20 years in care, but I like the green and red scale because it gives me a clearer way to train other people on how to value the people they look after. Will be another excellent tool I can use. Hopefully I will not need the physical skills-but good to know.
A more positive pro active approach, that i hope the rest of the staff team can adopt. The behaviour scales and explanations of the De-escalation allow us to use minimum impact and not just charge in.
I believe the whole course will be defining to the the change of culture in our work place, but most of all have a massive positive impact on the service users i work with.
To focus more on the service I provide to ensure preventitive measures are in place to decrease behaviours that may occur due to lack of activity and interest in the individuals life.
To be able to focus on prevention by gathering necessary information in order to be able to prepare for the best course of action for the person.
I feel more confident now to performed my job without thinking im doing it wrong.
Positive learning in dealing with the service users behavior.
I also learn to respect other peoples feeling and emotions
To work less disruptive, more kind and relaxed for the service user.
more professionally without causing the service user pain (RPI)
Give more confidence to the staff in and around problem solving and behaviours before they escalate. using red behaviour scale.
More confident that I can keep both service users and staff safe in a dignified way. It will be easier to document and keep accurate records of any occurrences that will ensure that areas of improvement are highlighted.
A full understanding of the red and green behaviour scales
How to use my new training and skills to support the service users.
A new found confidence in supporting service users who are presenting and support them using minimum impact in a SMART way.
Great course thank you Tony and Big thank you to NAPPI
I will go back to work and practice content, be confident in delivery, Smile, Remain Professional, Be prepared, Loved SMART,I felt More confident as I went on through the week the penny really dropped when delivering Generating Cooperation
I really would like to embed NAPPI philosophy into SeeAbilitys practice, update our support plans to reflect Green + Red scales.
I would also like to review our other presentations/courses to the NAPPI style
I really enjoyed the green behaviour scale. I felt this was a great way of looking at PCP.
love the layout of the RED behaviour scale and will be improving the way I put together our support plans round this model.
I have done other BILD Accredited courses before but I have found that NAPPI Level 1 focussed more than any other on proactive approaches. Plus everything delivered is minimum impact.
I enjoyed the layout of the course and the theoretical principles of the course. this theory will be passed on to our staff members to try and create a "greener" working environment.
The behaviour Scales (Red & Green) will serve as useful assessment tools and support plans for individuals
It gives me a better understanding of support, to stop a situation escalating and how to protect myself, the people I support and the other staff team.
To have confidence in situations that might arise.
- Need to develope more opportunities for the people we support.
- Will implement the Red and Green scales For ALL individuals.
- Need to develope better systems for the individual support for the people we support. Attend 100% and look at how we prevent the need for "waiting" and sharing support.
To put things I have learnt today into practice will only enhance things for the people we support, helping them to grow as individuals.
For myself its good for me to do things in my profession with more attention to detail.
As a a team of staff at Walton House we will all be working at the same goal on filling out diaries and supporting the people we support behaviours better. We will also be working in a safer environment.
