Delight at Restraint Reduction accolade

NAPPI uk is celebrating national recognition for its ethos of avoiding physical restraint on vulnerable people in the care and education sectors.

Managing director Helen Tait: "We are delighted to be one of the first organisations to get RRN certification of compliance to the RRN Training Standards."

To earn the coveted accreditation, NAPPI had to provide evidence of compliance against the standards.

"Much was what we do anyway, but we have improved our processes and it was particularly pleasing that the RRN singled out for praise our Co-Production team involving experts-by-experience," added Helen.

She project-led the certification process, which took a year and involved everyone at NAPPI. It included a submission, observation of training and a presentation to an RRN panel which was recognised as the first RRN presentation from a Co-Production team.

Helen was thrilled by the feedback from the panel session which said it was "genuine and impressive" presentation which mean NAPPI could be considered "an exemplar of the process and principles of Co-Production."

"That is huge for us," she added. "Co-production has been a central part of NAPPI for seven years, but this validation will help us support our clients to develop Co=Production through their organisations."
