Below is recent feedback received from our course participants. Participants were asked what things will they do differently in their job as a result of the training: It will mean that the staff have a better understanding of epilepsy and it's safe management More confident. More confidence Given me a great look on how to deal with a service user. I have a greater understanding of how to support our service user effectively if a seizure did occur. It will help look for signs of seizures. It is the knowledge to take and use in the workplace. The training will equip me with the knowledge in dealing with seizures. How the brain works and what causes triggers. How to be more observant and prepare for the onset. Make me more aware. It has given me more confidence that I know what to do in the event that one of my clients has a seizure. Being more aware of what to do with clients with epilepsy. Very informative course, easily transfereable to practical application in work. I know how to deal with people with epilepsy I feel confident after this training session. Also how to cope after, not just about the person you look after, about yourself too. I will be able to deal better with service users who may have an epileptic seizure and remain calm. Understanding safety aspect
Understanding/knowledge I will be able to educate all staff. It has also given me valuable advice which will improve my confidence and enable me to train other subjects. It has given me confidence in dealing with epilepsy in the workplace. Will help me understand how to deliver the content to existing and new staff who do not have any knowledge of epilepsy. Make staff understand and get knowledge to support people living with epilepsy and give them a qualty of life. I will be able to deliver this training alongside buccal midazolam with more knowledge and confidence to my team. Good information if I needed to support a person living with epilepsy. Better knowledge of working with different types of epilepsy. I am not currently working with anyone with epilepsy. However if I do I will have a better understanding of what I will need to do to support them well. Has given me a better understanding of epilepsy and how to manage the people I support. Covers to increase knowledge and practice. I will have more indepth understanding of epilepsy and will be able to train others in my service. I now understand what to do during a seizure and recognise different types of seizures. I will feel confident in providing support if the people I support have a seizure. I know what to look for. It was more informative and better than the last time we did training. It has made me learn more about epilepsy and has made me more aware of it. Got a lot more understanding of epilepsy and the different types. Help me too understand seizures better. What to do in the event of a seizure. I now know all about the different types of seizures. I am more aware of what happens in a person when they have a seizure. General plus extensive knowledge and understanding will help my work if I work with someone living with epilepsy. It will help me understand what to do before, during and after someone has a seizure and understand the triggers. More thorough training for staff. Better style of delivery. Correct way to use the pen! It has given me great confidence in delivering training to others. Keep focused on the individual. Recheck care plans and protocols too make sure all relevant and person centred. Encourage use of appropriate terminology, i.e focal, partial etc.
Have all care support working in the same way. I will now be able to support staff to understand epilepsy better Better knowledge and understanding. More confidence. I now know what to look out for before, during and after a seizure so this will help me recognise the signs. More determined to see service users epilepsy controlled better. Greater knowledge. Have learned a lot about the different seizures there is so I will be able to identify what seizure is occurring and what to do before, during and after in different environments. Having learned about the different types of seizures that can happen, it will help me in my workplace because I support 2 residents who suffer from some of them. I feel more confident about how to manage seizures and about all the different types. I am more aware of epilepsy and of causes and symptoms and what to do in a situation if someone has a seizure. When I entered this training this morning I knew absoulutely nothing about epilepsy. I now feel confident in the practice of epilepsy before, during and after. It has made me more confident on how to deal with seizures in the future. I have more knowledge and more confidence and a better understanding of triggers. Given information I didnt know about epilepsy.

Given me confidence to carry out the right protocol actions during and after a seizure. It will make me more confident when dealing with people with epilepsy. More aware of possible reasons to various forms of behaviour regarding people we support. It has been a great refresher and different from my last training. Very informative. Made me realise theres more to epilepsy than just fitting, understand types of seizures and the triggers. It has given me an insight into different kinds of epilepsy and causes and triggers.
