Autism Awareness Training

This course has been developed to enable staff to have awareness of good practice when working with people with an Autism Spectrum Disorder.

The course will explore the main areas of difficulty within Autism Spectrum Disorders, it will also look at Sensory stimuli within Autism Spectrum Disorders, and help staff develop strategies to enable them to support an individual with an Autism Spectrum Disorder.

NAPPI Autism Awareness Training develops problem-solving skills that enable a more helpful response when managing the presenting behaviour. It forms the link between 'Primary and Secondary prevention strategies' that compliment established Challenging Behaviour training. However, if your organisation does not currently provide Challenging Behaviour training then NAPPI can develop a bespoke programme to meet that need.

This tailored course is aimed at anyone who has an interest in delivering Autism Awareness training in their own organisation.
